Hey! My name is Annias Boone. I am a graphic designer who loves to create enjoyable content through different media. Minimalism has always been a sweet spot for me in design. I love creating in a way that is digestible yet still allows room for emphasis. Allowing for the strongest aspect of the design concept to stand out and have room to breathe allows me to create uniformity that isn't overwhelming within the concept. Design creates an amazing atmosphere which allows communication, collaboration and decision making to flourish.
The Design field is very unique because unlike other subjects there is often no clear cut guideline to knowing when a project or concept is finished. Relying on the eye of the artist, multiple people can receive the exact same rubric and project yet come out with completely different concepts. I love that within each project you are allowed to insert a piece of you that correlates with the theme you're looking to achieve. What we take in through our daily lives is often unknowingly reflected through our design work. I am passionate about excelling my knowledge of design and seeing the applications that bring our creations to life evolve alongside me. There are so many forms of media that various platforms have yet to be developed as far as others, so staying on top of these applications is very important to me. I have a very intense illustrative background so when I go into a new project I often take them from an illustrative point of view, then regress that concept until it appears to fit into its own box comfortably. Mixing that with my “Less is More” view of design allows me to cultivate a full yet not overwhelming composition.
I am very interested in how design affects us without knowing. Visiting Europe, I experienced how the media there affected my decisions within the environment. I returned with a better understanding of how things as simple as color, word weight and composition affect the consumer. Naturally we associate different colors and even the saturation of the design with thingss like health, authenticity and more!
The Ultimate goal for design is for it to sell itself. You want the consumer to believe what the designer is trying to invoke through the media. This ties in well with my interest in Marketing. Mixing the two is a great way to truly get what you're looking for out of a design. Understanding the very things that drive sales allows you to create selling material effectively. I find that seeing design through a marketing lens allows my concept to excel.
