Graphic Design started with me at young age when I downloaded an app that made you name brand’s logo and icons. I started to realize what each business style was and how they advertise themselves to the world. This became a passion for me even though I had no clue what Graphic Design is all about. This later made me want to take Intro to Computer classes in high school with learning each tool of abode software's. My first ever Graphic Design assignment or task I had to do was make a BLT. I learned the layering processes and while doing it, also picked up skills to make a BLT more interesting. The teacher of my class ended up being my boss at my summer job and she always told me I had thing for it. When I later went to college, I majored in business like any other male freshman would do which resulted me to transfer and change my majors during the covid year. With how crazy Covid was, it made me want to go into a profession where I can be remote and with people being always in need of a designer. I started my major with Graphic Design at a community college and then transferred to ECU. At the community college it was a lot more of learning the software instead focusing on the design aspect. This was an advantage of learning new tools but did not set me up well enough to gain knowledge from the design aspect of how a design can be good or bad. I was later fortunate to get accepted to ECU as a transfer to major in Graphic Design. As I have been learning so much of the principles of Design, I have fallen in love with having negative and positive space throughout all of my works. I have also fell in love with having high contrast throughout my work for easy visual hierarchy. With having contrast and negative space, you can guess that I’m big into my designs being minimalistic. I take pride in my designs incorporating all my strongest suites with design. There is nothing like showing people your work and getting praise for it as it has the ability to connect and touch lives around me. I see my work as a collection of hard work with being a student as time management being a big thing within the future, time management is a major key for success as a Graphic Designer. I am beyond grateful that ECU and the art department for giving me this opportunity to go in a field I love and am passionate about while learning to be a better designer every day.
